Aquia Garrisonville Animal Hospital is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!
$20K sign on bonus for 2 year contract
Aquia Garrisonville Animal Hospital is located in Stafford, VA, halfway between Washington, DC and Richmond, VA. We have been here for 30 years, but underwent a complete remodel and expansion 10 years ago. We are a large, progressive, 7 doctor practice. We strive to treat every pet as if it were our own, and want to enrich and educate our clients by giving a voice to our patients.
We have: 6 exam rooms; full surgery suite with CO2 laser surgery; large, open treatment room with 4 treatment tables- 2 of them wet tables; a separate “special procedures” room with a wet table for ultrasounds and dental procedures; ICU cages with O2, Isoflurane anesthesia machines; surgical monitoring with EKG, SpO2, BP, Capnography, temperature; electrocautery; IV pumps and syringe pumps;
Doppler BP; tonopen; digital radiography; digital dental radiography; full in-house Idexx laboratory; paper-lite Cornerstone computer system; therapeutic laser and 3 Licensed technicians as part of the team.

Customer Service Represenative
Job Description
Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital is seeking full-time Customer Service Representatives to join our team located in Stafford, VA. AGAH provides high quality veterinary medicine, focusing on excellent communication and emphasizing outstanding customer service in a mutually respectful working environment. We are looking for friendly, hardworking, team-oriented individuals, preferably with prior experience in the veterinary field. Applicants must be able to handle difficult situations with professionalism and compassion, while also being comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment. The ideal applicant will possess a strong attention to detail, personal responsibility, and maturity. The best CSRs are genuinely excited to help customers. Our CSRs ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
This position does require some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Duties for the CSR position include but are not limited to: handling multiple phone lines in a timely manner, greeting clients and checking them in and out for appointments, and maintaining computerized medical records. Other duties include:
- Open the veterinary clinic before the arrival of the doctors; get the clinic ready for the day’s work, and close the clinic, including balancing and preparing nightly deposit.
- Welcome clients with their pets to the clinic in a friendly and courteous manner. Take the extra mile to engage clients.
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with clients through open and interactive communication.
- Handle client complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.
- Answer incoming calls professionally, assess client needs to achieve satisfaction, and route calls to other staff members in line with the hospital’s protocols.
- Prepare patient forms and records for their scheduled appointments.
- Handle emergency cases appropriately by keeping clients and patients at ease before the arrival of the doctor.
- Review patients’ records to ensure that immunization and tests recommended by the doctor are up to date.
- Promptly notify the doctor of the arrival of patients, and the state of patients’ condition to avoid keeping patients with serious conditions waiting.
- Ensure all necessary paper work is accurate and complete before they are discharged from the hospital.
- Keeping reception, waiting area, and restroom area clean and presentable for clientele.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Windows-based computer systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
- Skills in de-escalating and resolving conflicts using effective problem solving manner.
- Skills in accomplishing tasks through formal and informal direction.
- Ability to effectively handle stressful situations.

As an integral part of our team, the Veterinary Assistants help maintain the flow of the veterinarians’ appointments seen throughout the day. Communicating clearly and concisely is a necessity, as the assistants are responsible for being an advocate for the pets and educating the owners as to what preventative care is needed and getting the medical histories as to the owner’s concerns. The ideal applicant will have a positive attitude and possess a strong attention to detail, personal responsibility, and maturity. Compassion and professionalism are a must. This is a physically demanding position as you are handling, lifting, and caring for animals while on your feet all day. You will be exposed to unpleasant odors and noises, along with handling the cleanup of blood, feces, and urine.
Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist Veterinarians and LVTS for exams and treatment of patients
