Dr. Hanenburg graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 before joining AGAH the same year. Before veterinary school, Dr. Hanenburg volunteered as a mentor for therapeutic horseback riding programs and worked in the Oncology Department of Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She tracked small animal medicine during her clinical year as a veterinary student and completed an externship at an emergency veterinary hospital in Virginia. She enjoys all aspects of medicine, but has special interests in ophthalmology, wound management, and diagnostic imaging.

After living in Indiana for 20 years, Dr. Hanenburg decided to settle in Virginia where she can be closer to family. When she is not in the hospital taking care of your pets, she enjoys cooking, drawing, playing tennis, and spending time with her Cairn Terrier, Snickers.
